Drayden @ 11 days old

Drayden's first outing other than to the doctor was to his great grandparents house. We went out to the studio and tried to shoot his first pro pictures but he didn't cooperate very well. This is what we did get plus a few snapshots at the house. He is so precious!

Sunday 5-25-08

This was a wonderful day! I had very little pain and that makes me happy. We had a very good service at church and then several of us met at Burger King for food and fellowship.
Afterwards I took Joe and Priscilla to a couple of places. We wound up back at the church with Tommy and Marilyn. We practiced three or four songs that we want to sing more often, including one that Priscilla wrote(beautiful!).
We then went over to Anita & Curtis's for a little bit before I took Joe & Priscilla back to church.
I then came home to make garlic, parmesan smashed potatoes to go with those wonderful gilled baby back ribs that my hubby cooked. I also made homemade ice cream and Misty, Kenneth, Heather, Tanner, Heath & Chris ate with us. It was GOOOOOD!
So I had a *W_O_N_D_E_R_F_U_L* day and I thank God for it. I hope you did also!

Week in review....

There's not a lot to say.....let's see, I had bloodwork done and didn't get a very good report. The number on the diabeties had gone up when the doctor had said it would probably be down with the medication and all. Other things such as tricylerides was way out also...oh well.
We got word that little Noah had a very high fever and was sick...*tears*. We don't know how he is now....hopefully ok.
Buddy had a nerve block done on Friday at Gadsden Regional...has been in quite a bit of pain but he did go racing today. It is almost midnight as I write this and he hasn't made it home yet. Our grandson Tanner went to the races with him and is spending the night.
I had Heather and Tanner over yesterday evening and enjoyed making snow cones for them and their two cousins who were with them.
I ran into Vicky McLain at the hospital on Friday and she told me that Dawson was graduating 4 yr. kindergarten last night. ~C*h*E*E*r*S~
My sister Anita has been very bad sick for a week now so I've went over there some this week. Kathy and I went there today and thank the Lord when we left she was feeling a little better.
Kristal Hope and I went to the hospital and visited with Teresa (Buddy & Curtis's sister) for a little while this evening. She really needs our prayers and encouragement!
Kathy and I went to Santa Fe Steakhouse for supper tonight. My meal of chopped sirloin, steamed veggies and mashed potatoes was fantastic! Best ever chopped sirloin.....
We went to Walmart afterwards for a $2oo plus grocery bill....got in with all that between 10 and 10:30 pm. I put away fridge & freezer stuff, the rest will wait til morning. Thank you Kathy for all your help!!!!
I am exhausted and going to bed now so GOODNIGHT!
Oh yeah...looking forward to a good day in the Lord tomorrow! Thank the Lord, all is as well as it is. God bless.....

Yesterday & Today

The last two days have been uneventful as I have not been feeling the best while holding the couch down. Back and leg pain have had me there a lot lately! Anyway the highlight of yesterday was that Betty (Buddy's sister) and Jon dropped in and visited with us and we were very glad. Betty shared a fresh german chocolate cake that she made, giving us half of it!!! Thank you Betty, we're enjoying it...it's goooood! They are in Alabama for the "Antique Alley" annual yard sale that is along #11 highway. They participate in this every year carrying on the tradition that their mom, Edna Mason set. The proceeds from their sales go to the continuing care of Edna, who resides in a local health care facility. If Buddy and I are able we will go to their set-up in the morning for a while and be with them.

Last Friday

...just sitting here remembering what I did last Friday evening. I had something to take to Vanessa and Anita so I went to Vanessa's first....was enjoying my visit with Randy & Vanessa when a phone call came in and I learned that Peggy Ann and Mary Margo were on their way to the West house so guess what I did...I stayed right there until they arrived! It was a joy to get to see all but especially the baby since that is a rarity. She has grown unbelievably and is so sweet and cute! She was asleep when she got there but woke right up just as happy as could be! Mary Margo played and crawled around some....she crawls with one knee on the floor and one foot on the floor...*hilarous. I was so glad to be with them a while.
I left there kinda late so I headed home but then I thought well I could just drive by Anita's and if they were still up I would stop...so I did and guess who was there?
Some more of the family that I hardly ever see...Shane and his whole family!!! Little Tyler has grown tremendously also and so has Hunter and Hollie. It was so good to see them and watch the kids play and listen to Tyler talk. Cyndi shared these recent photos with me...boy did I ever get treated on this night by getting the opportunity to be with relatives!

...a few more pics of Hunter & Hollie that I copied from My Space

This week...5-14-08

Well...not a lot of anything going on this week. On Monday, Sandra and I went flower shopping and had lunch at Guthries in Boaz. We went to Hubbards greenhouse but it was a dry run there because their periwinkles looked sick and that was what I went for. We came back to the Attalla Walmart and guess what...they had very fine, healthy looking periwinkles and they were quite large, which pleased me since I am a month later getting them in the ground than I was last year. The only drawback was the fact that they cost almost twice as much. Since my back won't allow me to do very much, Chris and Buddy did almost everything getting them planted, "Thank the Lord" and them. Buddy also re-potted my large ferns and tied up the rose bush for me. We really enjoy sitting on our porch, drinking coffee and watching the pretty flowers grow. God sure did make a beautiful world for us!!!!
On Tuesday evening I went to Marvin's and got mulch and Chris finished the beds for me.
My brother, Randy came by on his horse today and he commented that the flower beds looked pretty....awww, thanks.
By the way, I'm thankful that Randy is able to be riding that horse again. He had a some surgery recently and I'm so thankful that all is well...it did not have to be that way....praising God for His goodness!!!!

Mother's Day 5-11-08

I had a good day, starting with church. I picked up Buddy afterwards and we met his sister Rita and Breana, who had brought Edna out to lunch at Ryans restaurant. Edna looked so pretty in a nice pantsuit with her corsage that Betty ordered sent to her in honor of mother's day. Kristal Hope & Jamon joined us for a while as we ate a good meal. We were not quite through when we noticed who was being seated at the next table....Willie Sue Tidwell and several of her children and grandchildren. It just made Edna's day, she got very excited!

After stopping by Sears to get a new pressure cooker, we just rested the remainder of the day with Buddy watching TV and I on the computer. Jonathan came to see me bringing me a gift which was so sweet of him, I love him so much!

Heather's 11th birthday party

Heather Cherice Patton, our only granddaughter celebrated her 11th birthday on Sunday, May 4 at the Merry Go Round skating rink. It was open only to her invited guests which was good. The kids had a great time skating...man! some of them can really do fancy stuff on those skates! We adults enjoyed conversation with one another and a few adults skated (they are brave!).
